LZD XV-II - 15 Years of Lazy Days PT2 : 2010- 2015
2010 marked the the 5 years of the label’s existence. I decided to invite a few of my favorite artists to remix some of the highlights from the catalog for a compilation :Crazy P, Greg Wilson, Art Of Tones and Ian Pooley. As part of the anniversary, I was also invited to curate label nights at clubs like Fabric (London), Showcase (Paris) and Montreal’s summer festival Piknic Electronik. While I still didn’t have grandiose plans for the label, I could see that it was gaining maturity and an overall respect.

From then on, a lot of new connections were made possible and I was able to concentrate a little more on developing artists and projects rather than being involved musically in almost all releases. One of the most important collaborations of this quinquennial came from German duo Kruse & Nuernberg. After a few singles, I offered them an album deal. An album that to this day still stands the test of time for me with additional remixes from Spirit Catcher, Mario Bassanov and Wolf + Lamb. While I was less busy with the studio aspect of the label, I found myself spending more time working on Lazy Days, with more projects from favourites Shur-I-Kan, Art Of Tones and Atjazz as well as veteran producers Satoshi Tomiie & Matthias Vogt and Christian Prommer. Because my hands were already full, only a few of my own EPs were released on the label at this time as I looked for other homes for my music. I also still managed to put on a few more label parties here in Hawaii, Montreal, Miami (WMC) as well as a short residency in San Francisco where I was able to bring people like Jazzanova, Shur-I-Kan and Pezzner.

At the end of this 5 year cycle came a big change in my life, and It was time to repack my stuff and head back to Montreal after 8 years in San Francisco. Lazy Days was going back home.
